lefty loosey righty tighty...and the kids will "really" be alrighty!

I've heard a lot of rhetoric during this presidential race with regards to education and returning jobs to America. Words are words and action is action, I think America is on life support in both of the aforementioned arenas. I see these working hand in hand and metaphorically comparing the ideology of education and jobs it would be the hand of the educated engineer giving the blueprints of a new design and or technology to the hand of a skilled worker or craftsman and him/or her manufacturing in a new modern industrial movement of manual labor. The old saying too many chiefs and not enough indians, simply displays how I feel about the current state of America, everyone got educated or at least has the paper to say they did, because thats what our parents told us to do, but in doing so a whole generation gap was introduced. The thought was to get educated to avoid working hard like most of our parents did, well thats is great in a time that is plentiful with jobs. Unfortunately jobs are scarce and it's time to reintroduce our younger generations and those who are in limbo about career options to the thought of turning wrenches. It doesn't have to be that exactly, but I would love to see more americans pick up tools, and make stuff themselves again. Learn about things, fix things yourselves. we live in a disposable society that soon as something breaks or wears out it goes right in the garbage. Perhaps we need to take a few steps back before we can move forward. This post was supposed to be about the beauty in these tools below, and all the accomplishment that was achieved rom their use. Many tools very similar to some of these put food on my plate, I wanted to express the love I have for tools, and how they can make anything possible provided you have the right one. fellow poster and best friend KneesIntheBreeze is a big influence on me, he has always been a tool collector and master of getting things done. My friend and co/worker wears his heart on his sleeve!

Half and Half

Fashion before function?

Most of my life I have lived by the motto "fashion before function"...A dear friend pointed out to me in recent times that when people grow, people go! My interpretation of his artistic statement was that as we get older and supposedly wiser people find their own ways, and paths that stray away from the ways of their yesteryear. Looking at my choices today versus those that i made in the past I feel myself gravitating towards making more decisions based on function, and not just my own personal function but those who depend on me and look up to me. My old self may have been too cool to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle, but now all that supposed "wisdom" aka grey hair is always covered by a helmet when I ride. If you gotta wear one you might as well make it a fashionable one I suppose. The main reason that I wear a helmet, I would hope to survive to see another moment like this!!!!
