In what seems like an eternity away, there was A place that I like to call the good ol' USA where mills were milling, sewing machines were singing, jobs were in an abundance, and the American spirit was Alive and well felt by the hands that were making all the goods that made this country the place that I love. Almost everything was made here, and mostly local in factories in your town or neighborhood. The garment industry has since been sold down the road to the cheapest labor one could find. In this transition we have lost quality and character. Dry goods made here were made with pride, of quality materials and built to last, the finishing touch to those garments was the inside label depicting the companies name, logo and sometimes even A catchy or witty slogan. Throughout the last 15 years I have been heavy into vintage shopping and have come across very interesting brand labels in my digging. I never thought to take A pic, but I did stop for A second to appreciate the thought and design that was put into these labels. Here are some old labels that I found online that capture A special time in the long gone America that I love.
