Draggin' Slayers....

Names may never hurt you, but they may beat you....on the track! I love hot rods with clever or funny names, hand lettered with a neat font, 3D effects, or drop shadow and sometimes even a lil' character to illustrate the slogan. These names are usually based around the car company, type, year and or speed in general. Hot rodding and drag strip racing have a long history in America, from a time when cars were being modified to outrun the police during the prohibition, until present day were there are national and international associations that regulate racing. Hot rods have always been a piece on the game board of American life, many of our fathers, uncles, and grandfathers played part in the garage built race car lifestyle. Having the fastest car and the reputation of being able to handle and drive it was all about Bragging rights, and once the reputation was earned of being the fastest, the cars were given an honorary nickname. I grew up around muscle cars and uncles that drove them like race car drivers, These pics remind me of the times my parents would bring me to the races on Front street in Phildelphia in the late 70's early 80's were there would be hundreds of hot rods lined up, motors rumbling watching and waiting to run down the strip...
